1. Make up your mind how much you are expecting ( the minimum. ). So that you know you will not go below this.
2. Be reasonable. Like 20% or even 30% hike is decent , sometimes devs ask for 200% . Until your salary needs a market correction.
3. Negotiate politely and with respect :-)
4. Understand all salary components , remember OnHand and CTC can have a huge difference.
Most important if your current job is ok , for 10% or 20% increase do not jump in to something more bad. Peace of mind is the most important thing.
